Since joining ICANN late May, I’ve been thinking about ICANN’s Global Leadership Team and what functions should be present to help guide the organization.  As a result, I’ve made a few small changes to this team to reflect the importance of key functions and make sure we’re positioned to lead the next chapter at ICANN. 

The timing also seemed right given the upcoming departures of Allen Grogan and Nora Abusitta from the team.

A Recent Report Shows 20 Million WPAD Leaks

Verisign has released a couple of weeks ago a significant research paper that says millions are exposed of man-in-the-middle attacks. This is in reality a study about how a famous type of attack might become easier as a result of the expansion of the DNS at the highest level.

 

According to the study, that at first sight seems scary, there might be a significant amount of cases per day (238,000 meaning 2.3% of the WPAD query leaks), but Verisign hasn’t seen any sign leading to this conclusion.
