Today, ICANN announced that it has posted for public comment a proposed amendment to the base New gTLD Registry Agreement.

Why Change the Registry Agreement?

Like other business contracts, the New gTLD Registry Agreement will need to be modified occasionally to clarify responsibilities and update terms. The process for making amendments is defined in Section 7.7 of the base agreement.

Two new registrars accredited

Both registrars will operate in Kaliningrad

Agreements on accreditation in the .RU and .РФ domains have been signed with two new domain name registrars from Kaliningrad – Ruweb and Domainreseller.

Now there are 37 accredited registrars in .RU and .РФ, seven of which represent the Northwestern Federal District, three are from St. Petersburg, and four are in Kaliningrad.

The Northwestern Federal District ranks second in terms of the number of registered domains, while the Central Federal District is the leader.

Подписаны соглашения об аккредитации в доменах .RU и .РФ с двумя новыми регистраторами доменных имен - ООО «Рувеб» и ООО «Домэинреселлер». Оба регистратора представляют г. Калининград.

Таким образом, теперь в национальных доменах .RU и .РФ аккредитовано 37 регистраторов. 7 из них представляют Северо-Западный федеральный округ – 3 из Санкт-Петербурга и теперь 4 из Калининграда.
